Sunflowers

Perhaps Amy’s love for flowers was seeded in the sunflower fields of South Dakota, where she worked during the summers as a young teenager. Granted, those sunflowers were grown for a different purpose but they were no less magical, especially being in the middle of hundreds of acres of them.

We grow 10 varieties of sunflowers at Pleasant Hills Farm with successive plantings to ensure availability from mid July through mid October. We harvest our sunflowers with only a petal or two open to ensure minimal insect damage and long vase life.
